Metallic Raspberry Wrap Bracelet

by Megan Piper

An exclusive Harlequin Beads design, this kit utilizes tila beads and Czech seed beads in a unique and visually stunning bracelet. This combination creates lovely texture and shimmer from the tila's metallic finish and colorful luster of the seed beads. This bracelet pattern is also perfect for any other seed bead and tila combo. This kit includes the most up-to-date wrap bracelet instructions and is on a par with today's contemporary fashion.

You will need a ruler and either Hypo Cement or clear nail polish, which are not included in the kit.

step 1
step 1
Thread your needle with two or more yards of Nymo thread. Fold in half with the needle in the middle. Fold the leather in half and incorporate the ends of the Nymo thread with the leather loop while you create an overhand knot. Make sure the loop is big enough to let the button pass through and that the knot is nice and tight. Glue the overhand knot to secure the thread and trim the extra thread. Note: We used a lighter thread in the pictures to provide more visual clarity and for demonstration purposes only. The Nymo thread in the kit is brown.
step 2
step 2
Loop the thread OVER the top row of leather, bringing the needle and thread back through one seed bead and guiding the needle and thread UNDER the bottom row of leather. Tighten the thread, so the bead stays in place.
step 3
step 3
Loop the thread OVER the bottom row of leather, bringing the needle and thread back up through the same seed bead and guiding the needle and thread UNDER the top row of leather. Tighten the thread, so the bead stays in place.
step 4
step 4
Loop the thread OVER the top row of leather, bringing the needle and thread back through two seed beads and guide the needle and thread UNDER the bottom row of leather. Tighten the thread, so the beads stay in place, Loop the thread OVER the bottom row of leather, bringing the needle and thread back up through the two seed beads and guiding the needle and thread UNDER the top row of leather. Tighten the thread, so the beads stay in place. Continue this pattern, adding an extra seed bead to each row of your design until you have five seed beads on the needle and thread.
step 5
step 5
Once you have gone back up the five seed beads, add one seed bead, one tila bead and another seed bead to your needle and thread. Loop the thread OVER the top row of leather, adding one seed bead, one tila and another seed bead to your needle and thread, guiding the needle and thread UNDER the bottom row of leather. Tighten the thread, so the bead stays in place.
step 6
step 6
Now, instead of going through the bead holes twice, we will just use the second hole in the tila bead. Loop the thread OVER the bottom row of leather, bringing the needle and thread back up. Add one seed bead to your design, then go through the second tila hole, add another seed bead and guide the needle and thread UNDER the top row of leather. Tighten the thread, so the beads stays in place. You will continue with this pattern until your thread becomes about 4" short. To add new thread, go back about five tila bead spaces and re-weave through the beads in the same exact pattern. Trim the excess thread.
step 7
step 7
Continue with this pattern until the bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist three times (minus an inch for the clasp ending). When you are at the desired length, you will add your graduating seed bead pattern; add five seed beads to a row and keep subtracting one seed bead in the continuing rows until you are down to one seed bead. When you are down to one seed bead, you are going to weave back through the seed beads and a couple tila beads to finish off your thread. Trim the thread and add the button to one of the end pieces of leather. Add the crimp bead to the other piece of leather. Loop around the piece of leather with the button on it through the crimp bead so the button is snug next to the seed beads and the crimp is on the side of the button. Crimp down the crimp bead and trim the excess leather.
