Moody Ruby Earrings

by Megan Piper

The beautiful deep hues of these moody round ruby mirage beads are enhanced with sparkly ruby Swarovski bicones and warm antique copper tones. This style of mirage bead has a ruby base that allows the color changes in the bead to be bold and dark. Have fun watching the many different color-changing moods of your earrings.

TIP: We recommend using two pairs of pliers, so you have a nice firm grip when forming your spiral headpin.

Using a 3-inch section of wire, bend a very small section at the tip of the wire, and create a tiny U shape. Form the wire around itself, creating a flat spiral while doing so. When the spiral is big enough, create a 90-degree angle close to the spiral.
step 2
step 2
Add the 6mm ruby bicone to your spiraled wire. Create a simple wire twisted loop and trim away any excess wire.

Watch our wire twisted loop video for a how-to demonstration by our beading expert.

step 3
Attach another 3-inch section of wire on to your finished spiral piece with another wire twisted loop. Add a 3mm ruby bicone, one mirage bead, and another 3mm ruby bicone. Make sure the bicones are tucked nice and snug in the mirage bead holes and create another wire twisted loop.

Add the earwire. Repeat all of these steps to complete the second earring.
