step 1
step 1
Cut 6 feet of the 28 gauge round antique copper craft wire. Make a small coil with your fingers. Relax, this part doesn't have to be perfect; imperfections add character and realism. When your coil gets to about 10mm, start building your coil up a little bit.
step 2
step 2
Take the remaining 2 feet of the 28 gauge round wire and attach it near the center of your nest. Start weaving this new wire through the bottom of the nest from the center to the edges, all the way around. Go over the upper rim with the wire, making sure to catch parts from your earlier weaving stitches. Use your fingers to help form your coil into a nest.
step 3
step 3
Continue coiling and stitch it together every so often until you are satisfied with the look.
step 4
step 4
When you have approximately 8 inches of wire left stitch your eggs into the nest one at a time. Wrap your leftover wire and tuck it in in the back of the nest.
step 5
step 5
Poke through the top of the nest with a hatpin and attach the jumpring through the opening you just created.
step 6
step 6
Thread the chain through the jumpring.
step 7
step 7
Use the 24 gauge wire and 3mm crystal copper bicone to attach the ring section of the toggle clasp with simple wire twists.
